Video Visits


What is the cost for a Video Visit with Kelsey-Seybold?
The Video Visit charge will be the same as your Primary Care or Specialty Care office co-pay. Video Visits are payable by credit card using your secure MyKelseyOnline account.

Post-Op Video Visits are available for: Orthopedics, Plastic Surgery, and General Surgery​​.

Who is eligible to conduct a Video Visit?
​Video Visits are available to patients ages 4 to 17, and 18 years and older enrolled in a KelseyCare, KelseyCare Advantage or UnitedCharter health plan. You must be registered on MyKelseyOnline to conduct a Video Visit. 

When are Video Visits Available?
Monday - Friday: 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday - Sunday: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.,​ and Holidays (when clinics are closed): 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

What happens if I am prescribed a medication during my Video Visit?
The provider can e-scribe any prescriptions to the Pharmacy of your choice.  

What happens if I need to have any labs or tests done?
Your Video Visit providers can order any tests, which can be completed at the Kelsey-Seybold Clinic of your choice. Your results will be sent through MyKelseyOnline or by phone.

How do I initiate a Video Visit? How do I conduct a Video Visit?
To schedule a Video Visit from your Smartphone or Tablet:

  1. Log in​to your MyChart app.
  2. Select the Appointments option and then selec​t the green bar at the bottom: "Schedule an Appointment".
  3. The next screen will have options for Appointment type: Select "I need a Video Visit – Primary Care" or "I need a Video Visit – Specialty"
  4. Select your Video Visit preference: Weekdays 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. or After-hours, Weekends, Holidays.
  5. Select one of the conditions you need to be seen for and review the Virtual Healthcare consent terms and select "Accept" and Continue to proceed.
  6. Select a preferred location (the Clinic your physician or physician assistant is located) and click Continue. Note: You can select up to five clinic locations.
  7. Select a Provider you want to schedule with. Note: You can select up to 10 providers.
  8. Select a date and time, or select “All Available” to show all available appointment options and select the green “Continue” bar. 
  9. Follow the steps to select an available appointment time for your visit. Add in any additional comments or details for the provider about your condition or symptoms and click "Make Appointment" to schedule the Video Visit.
  10. You will get an option to go to the Echeck-in page. You must complete the Echeck-in prior to your scheduled Video Visit.

To conduct a Video Visit from your Smartphone or Tablet:

  1. Log into MyChart 5-10 minutes before your scheduled appointment time.
  2. Tap on Appointments: Your Video Visit Appointment is displayed with a green camera.
  3. Click on the Appointment with the green camera and tap Begin Visit. Wait for the connection to be established.
  4. Be sure you are in a well-lit area with the camera and microphone enabled on your smart phone.

To schedule a Video Visit from your Desktop/Laptop:

  1. Log into your MyKelseyOnline.com account and select Appointments/Schedule an Appointment. If you don't have a MyKelseyOnline account, call the MKO Help Line at 713-442-6565.
  2. Select the Appointments option and then selec​t the green bar at the bottom: "Schedule an Appointment".
  3. The next screen will have options for Appointment type: Select "I need a Video Visit – Primary Care" or "I need a Video Visit – Specialty"

What if I can't be treated during a Video Visit – am I still charged?

If an in-office visit is needed, your credit card would not be charged and the provider will be able to help schedule an appointment at the Kelsey-Seybold Clinic/doctor of your choice.

Does a Video Visit go toward my annual Out-of-Pocket Maximum? 
Video Visits are a covered benefit with some health plans and will accumulate toward your Maximum Out-of-Pocket (MOOP).
